Inviting for Trek N Ride event on 25 Jan 15,Kochi,Kerala,India

The Spice Route 200 BRM was the curtain downer for the rides conducted by Cochin Bikers Club (CBC) last year. Several rides were conducted to places well known for its natural surroundings and our trips to Chimmini Dam, Kulamavu, Perumbalam, North Paravoor, Manjali Hanging Bridge besides a number of Brevets.

While any major local ride is yet to take place, the 300 BRM conducted by CBC took place on 17th January heralded the arrival of New Year 2015. CBC look forward to have more organised rides to various places this year. On coming Sunday we will be kicking off our first group ride of the year to an exotic destination. The dawn-to-dusk outdoor activities include a 100km plus ride with some trekking and hill climbing. All riders are welcome to participate.

Malayattoor is a village in the North Eastern corner of Ernakulam District in the state of Kerala in South India. The name ‘Malayattoor’ is an amalgamation of three small words. Mala (Mountain) Arr (River) Oore (Place). This is to say, Malayattoor is a meeting place of mountain, river, and land. This exotic destination is about 10 kms away from Kalady, the birth place of Adi Sankara, the world famous philosopher and founder of the principle of 'Advaita'.

Situated at 54km from Palarivattom, the foot of (Malayattoor) Kurisumudi will be our turnaround point of biking. After a brief rest we would be scaling the Kurisumudi mountain which is around 1300 feet above sea level. Kurisumudy has its fame as a place visited by St. Thomas, one of the Apostles of Jesus Christ, attracts a lot of believers specially during Malayattoor Palli Perunnal.

Kindly be at the venue at 5.45am. The ride starts exactly at 6am from Hotel Highway Garden, on bypass between Palarivattom and Edappally junctions and finishes at the same venue at about 6pm. Helmets and other safety features like front lights, rear blinkers and reflective vests are a must.

There is no registration procedure to be followed, but would be appreciated if you could convey your confirmed participation to Ajith Varma on 8089600337.
