I am an easy going, retired 56 year engineer whose retirement plan is to cycle around the world, meeting the locals and enjoying the sites and sampling the local cuisine. I am looking for 1 or 2 companions who are interested in an east bound cycling adventure across Canada. Starting in Vancouver, British Columbia in late May 2021 and ending up in St Johns, Newfoundland in Aug/Sept. Hopefully Covid will be under control by then and cycling trips like this wil be allowed/acceptable again. I am always the optimist.
I am a fit and avid club cyclist who has travelled exrensively and now I would like to experience the world again on my bike. So many places, so little time.... I am a good conversationalist with lot's on interesting stories to help the miles go by.
I would rate my cycling strength at 7 of 10. The plan would be to target about 100km per day depending on the winds, weather and the amount of mountains we have to cross. I would like to camp most of the trip and a stops at a hotel every 4-5 days grab a good meal, to sleep in cozy bed and catch up on laundry.
If you are interested in joining me, please feel free to reach out.
Thanks,
Carlton.
