Hi,
I plan to ride Lanzarote using a bike. One of most interesting things on the island is Timanfaya National Park. I would prefer to go through it by bike, but I know that main tourist route is available only for buses. Can anybody recommend me another interesting route through Timanfaya National Park but for bikes? Is it possible to see this park using bike?

I was there in January and went to the Park by bike (29" MTB). It is only possible to use the bike from the entrance toll-booth to the central park area where the round-tour buses leave. From there it is strictly buses only.
This ride from entrance to center is very steep uphill and just wide enough for 2 cars so when slowly riding up I stepped aside every two minutes to let the cars pass me. The downhill ride on the way back is fun but allows no mistakes as there is sharp A'a-lava on the road-edge.
There is a hiking path along the coast from El Golfo into the park but I have not tried it and don*t know if it alows to go by MTB.
I'd say it is worthwhile to take the bus tour through the park and it is included in the entrance fee anyway.
kind regards
