Sunshine Skyway Florida

This giant bridge spanning the bay is an interstate and cannot be cycled, previously getting from the St Petersburg side of the bay to the Bradenton side was only do-able if you got a ride. However there is now a bus service from Bradenton to the VA hospital at Bay Pines, close to the Pinellas Trail and to Bradenton from St Pete. It is called the Sunshine Connexion and is operated by MCAT bus service. There are 2 bus services each way Monday to Friday. They do have room for 2 bikes on the front of the bus carrier. This may be of use to winter Florida visitors to the Gulf coast.
