Hello,
I'm cycling to India from Ireland and currently in Turkey at the moment. After some research I have found out that you can't get a Pakistan visa without applying for it in your own Country.
Has anyone been able to get the visa while on tour.
Looking for advice on this and other alternatives to getting to India by land of sea from Iran.
Only have the Iranian visa at the moment.

Some People told, they could get Visum for Pakistan in their home country only since 2011. Maybe You could go by ship around Pakistan?
Or by land through Georgia, Azerbaidsan, Kasachstan .... This member did it (a part) right now:

But the way through China to India I didn't hear about.

This 2 men told about Pakistan Visa in www.rad-forum.de You can ask them in English, I asked them, too.

I went trough Pakistan last year and got my visa in my homecountry, germany.
I never heard that someone managed to get it on the way in the last years.
Try to call the pakistan embassy in Teheran (or Ankara when you want to try in Turkey, and ask for the requirements. I think you need a "Letter of recommendation" from your Embassy to apply for the visa. And your embassy will not give that Letter to you, when you tell them you want to travel overland. Maybe with a flight ticket from Teheran to Islamabad you will get it. There is also a Pakistan Consulat in Mashad and in Zahedan. I heard from a cyclist he bribed his way trough and got his visa in Zahedan, but it is years ago and I think the Iranian police will not let you go to Zahedan without a Pakistani Visa (because from the city Bam on you are not allowed to cycle).
What is when you send your passport with a courier service back home, get the visa, and send it back to Turkey? But don´t do this when you are allready in Iran.
The other option would be trough the Stans to China, and try to cross Tibet to nepal. You won´t get a permit for Tibet, but I just met a cyclist who made it trough without permit. Two other cyclists I know also tried it, but got caught by the police near Lhasa and had to go back to China.
The easiest way is to take a ferry from Bandar Abbas (Iran) to UAE and then a flight to India from Dubai. Maybe there is also a ferry to Oman. Or a flight to India directly from Iran.

I have been to Pakistan on a bicycle last octobre. I was always accompanied by police. Not before Lahore they let me
go. They were very friendly, but it was almost impossible to get in touch with the people. If you still want to go to Pakistan, there is no way to get it on tour or to bribe in a way. You have to send back your passport for application at your homecountry. Alternativley you can take a ferry, leaving from Bandar Abbas to Dubai (around 100 USD, I was told). There is no direct ferry to India.
