MY TOUR AROUN THE WORLD BY BIKE, to the health by the bike. STANDARDIZATION PROJECT FOR INVISIBLE DISEASES, MENTAL ILLNESSES.

In this link you have the last post about the seven point of the project.
http://cicli4.blogspot.com.ar/2014/05/segundos-dias-de-san-pedro.html

THE PROJECT
There are patients who to his biological problem of health, have to add a social bonus derived from the fact of which these pathologies are not seen, they do not enter the eyes. We are speaking about the invisible diseases, the mental ones.

Some illness people have to sum up a biological problem with another one derived from blinded pathologies that a normal eye can see. Those invisible illnesses, mental illnesses which we're going to deal with.

STANDARDIZATION PROJECT FOR INVISIBLE DISEASES, MENTAL ILLNESSES.

1/ Awareness of society at two leves: individual and institutional:
The main objective of the standardization project is the awarness of society of this diseases, as well trying to avoide the distress situations over the institutional enviroment.

2/ Bipolar disorder:
I've been suffering from a bipolar disorder 30 years, a recognized disability, and therefore this is a well-known problem for me. Bipolarity is the origin of this project, but not it's limit, as all mental illness are invisible for most people. In this link you can read how this project was born 20 years ago: http://blogs.lne.es/cicli/informacion/

3/ Avoiding misunderstanding
Sometimes the “blindness” that this diseases are exposed generate misunderstanding situations where we can easily quote two examples:
Despite having a recognized disability there are not adapted sports for invisible diseases.

4/ Social concern about the existence of invisible diseases
The main point of this project is to aware of the existence of invisible illnesses. That you might be really sick, but your body doesn't reflects that, appearing to be healthy and following a high quality life, welfare, or even being happy despite being really poor in health, which for most people is incomprehensible.

5/ Open project
This project is open to everyone, individuals and colectives. Is born as an individual initiative, but willing to serve all members from the society.

6/ Disclosing project

7/ “Mi vuelta al mundo en bici, a la salud por los pedales” is the most highlighted par from the project, but also the project itself. Everything done so far is posted on cicli2.blogspot.com

8/ Sport as a therapy:
Is also important to get consciousness of the importance of sport as an aid to control this kind of diseases. In my personale situation the sport has been a permanent part of my therapy, and “Mi vuelta al mundo en bici, a la salud por los pedales” a therapeutic target.

9/ Our responsibility:
It's only in our willness and responsibility to be a good patient.
I wish to highlight the ability to cope in difficult times from invisible patients, and I think that it may be an encouragement to others in similar situations, even as a reference, of how we, starting with smaller capacities, can reach the same places as others.

10/ Social justice:
Its a fact that being stolen bothers anyone, but it's much more unpleasant that no one recognizes the effort that some invisible patients have to put in their everyday lives in order to be a part from an exclusive society who doesn't care about them.
