Hey Folks
I´m currently travelling trough Turkey with a Welsh guy i met along the road and he´s desperately trying to find a way to get an Iranian visa but it seems impossible for UK passport holders right now.
I´m asking if anyone might have come across other UK Passport holders who somehow managed to get an Iranian visa through maybe a loophole or whatever ?
Any ideas and advice is appreciated! :)
Ciao
Hans
It`s just possible with an organised tour. No other chance.

Sorry.
Yeah that´s what you read everywhere... i obviously used google :D
That´s why i´m asking for people who actually made it
maybe by booking a guide for just a few days to enter and then go on your own ... ideas like that
Thanks
Hi artoftravel,i'm iranian and i can help you if you want
If you can get the authorisation code you should be fine. We were told we wouldn't be able to do enter on bikes as British people in Feb this year but got the authorisation code from iranian visa.com and entered without a hitch. We didn't mention we were on bikes until after the trip. We know of several other Brits who have been through Iran on bikes after us. There are obviously no guarantees it will work though so could be an expensive risk to take. Good luck!
Hi Laura and Tim. I've been following your blog. Good work! When you were in Iran, did you see or hear about any Americans cycling through? We're wondering how feasible it is these days.
Dan, Kiri,
Thanks for the message. We were there this time last year (January-February 2014) although it seems such a long time ago!
I don't think we came across any Americans cycling through but, as I think some of the other commenters here have indicated, my understanding was that Americans were only allowed into the country on an organised tour.
I don't know how strict these things are. It may be that just using a travel agency to, for example, pick you up at the border and book one or two hotels would be sufficient. In which case, that might be acceptable. Alternatively, you could be restricted to being with a tour guide at all times which is obviously a different kettle of fish.
Let me know if I can help with anything else otherwise... good luck!
Tim.
P.S. Please do register your trip at the Database of Long Distance Cycle Journeys - www.longdistance.bike
Hi hans
My wife has British passport and we applied for the code through iranvisa.com in July this year and she didn't get it. They knew about the issue with her passport but still they took the money. I have Spanish passport and I got it after 5 weeks wait. Other British we met had the same luck. They were told in trabzon: no LOI no visa! The change to Uk passport started around March this year unfortunately so we missed out Iran.
Good luck anyway!
Hi man,
I heard from my friend that you can get iranian visa in BATUMI, Georgia without further notice (actualy is only place in world where you can do so). Also my another friend has a UK and AUS pasport and he made it with no problem, using iranian embassy in Ankara (or Istambul I'm not sure right now.).
