I am about to start my bike tour from Copenhagen to Berlin. I know this is a popular route but I haven't been able to find any good information about campsites or housing along the way? Most people say that it is easy enough to pitch a tent on the side of the road even though it is technically illegal in Denmark at least. Does anyone know more information about this?
Thanks!

Copenhagen to Berlin camping suggestions
Hey Tazzy,
unfortunately I don't know the route (planning to ride it this or next year from Berlin). My next trip will be on the Baltic Sea Route, heading from Padborg in southern Denmark to east at the end of May.
You could check this site. There you'll find the route divided in three parts, with a lot of links to hotels, campgrounds and hostels. It's a first try!

Additionally have a look to that site:

Staying illegal overnight in Denmark could be an expensive experience, the fine is up to 500€. I think it's less stressful in Germany if you find a place where nobody sees you.
Have fun on your trip! :-)
Tobias
Thanks Tobias! Those are really helpful sites.
You're welcome. Give a notice when a detour leads you to Hamburg or Hanover, maybe I can give you a place to rest when I'm in town.
Keep on riding,
Tobias
