South France In October

Hi everyone,

What is the situation regarding wild camping in France?  I am about to take a quick two week tour round trip from Nice, France, possibly heading to Montpellier more or less by the coast and back more or less via Eurovelo route 8.  I'm used to Norway and other north European countries where wild camping is pretty much the norm, but I'm just wondering what the situation might be in France? How "discrete" might I need to be? (though usually I do try and find someone to ask)

Any comments/suggestion on places and things to do and see on the way would be great.

Thanks

Mark

I would say it's slightly

I would say it's slightly less easy than the rest of the country due to right wing politics and maybe urbanization. But I've never went biking in this side, so I can't confirm.

Should be good anyway

Thanks

Thanks - yes, there were a couple of times it was a bit difficult, mainly because of the urbanization, other times because the ground was really unsuitable - too rocky or hilly, or dense forest. But I always found a solution (including Warnshowers) and it wasn't good, it was great! :)
