Hi,
Our journey to China was planned cycling to Burgas (Bulgaria) and there getting on a ferry Batumi or Poti in Georgia.
We have been informed that the ferry is not operating until August this year for maintenance. We are currently in Dubrovnik heading to Montenegro but we need to find the way to get to Georgia in another way.
Does anyone know how or have a solution? Thanks
Barbara

i guess there is only airway left. from istanbul to batum www.turkishairlines.com
You can use the bus from Istanbul to Batumi. Expect about 15 hours.
There's also a Ferry from Ukraine to Poti if you want to use a ferry
yes, there are also busses > like metro turizm, but their website is only in turkish. one way 140- TL (appr. 40 USD). https://www.metroturizm.com.tr/otobus-bileti/ISTANBUL_AVR-BATUM?date=26.06.2017&tw=0
We were hoping to use this as well, but not until late July. This the one we were hoping to use:

They seemed to have a departure yesterday, is this the one you heard is not working?
Hi Will and Jasmine,
Yes that is the one. We have been enquiring and the company told us that the ferry won't be ready until august. There is a replacement boat ( the one you have noticed has just sailed) but this is NOT allowed to take passengers just cargo. We also asked if they knew of any others and we contacted several others and they all said no to passengers! They think the passenger boat will be back in action in august! The options we have researched are either buses or trains. If you find out other info pls let us know. We are in Kosovo now heading through Macedonia and now through Greece avoiding Bulgaria due to no ferry. Good luck and maybe see you on route. Our plan to be in turkey mid July. Jack & Barbara
