3 weeks in Cuba

Hi everyone! So writing a question for my dad, He is headed off to cycle Cuba for 3 weeks and is a little concerned about the lack of camping and easy to find food... he is not new to cycle touring as he spent 3 weeks cycling with me in France on my year trip around the US and Europe, but he is new to touring alone and only speaks English with very minimal Spanish, he is taking 32c tires and has a steal frame, people who have cycled Cuba before do you have any advice about the roads and sleeping/eating arrangements? Thanks for your time!!

3 weeks in Cuba

Hello Audrey,

me and my 2 friends have the same plans for comming spring - cycle Cuba for 3 weeks. We are seniors (55-60), speak English, no Spanish, we are from Slovakia. We already exchanged few emails with Cuban warmshowers in Havana and Sancti Spiritus, they are very friendly to help in any areas. Food is no problem, but the best way is to spent nights in local type of accomodation "Particular Houses". There is possible to buy dinner and breakfast, it should be very tasty and the size of servings is more than enough. It is necessary to carefully negotiate the price. Most roads in Cuba are unpaved, so good and wider tyres are advantage. If you need to answer some specific question I will try to answer.
