I am planning to cycle turkey this summer. Since last year Ive already cycled the south and west coast, Id like to go this time to the Back Sea coast. However, Im not sure if this is ' cyclable' (Ive read that its really up-down-up-...). Moreover, how about the conservativeness of this area? (last year around Konya I didnt really feel confortable. Is this region as conservative as Konya, or is it more liberal?)
Has anyone any great recommendations? And apart from the Black Sea, which regions would you recommend?
I really loved turkey, so Id love to go back there!

turkey; Black Sea coast and other recommendations?
Hi, as you know, Turkey is a conservative country, and Black Sea coasts is no exception. Only add a little bit nationalism, and there goes it!
The road is flatt and dull at the east side (after Samsun); it is a big highway near the sea. And since the area is very mountaineraous, you cannot cycle on secondary roads, it would be such a pain! (at the west of the coast, it's nice, narrow and terribly hilly.)
If i were you, i'd take a more central anatolia oriented route. :) Maybe the Phrygian Way, if you like gravel roads. The south is not an option anymore in this season.
