Looking for someone who would like to tour from Victoria to the Pacific coast town of Tofino on Vancouver Island. Also would like to hear from anyone who has done this route for tips/suggestions.

I would like to do this trip, but cannot take vacation until the first week of October. If your dates change at all, please let me know. For this route, you can take a ferry from Brentwood Bay, north of Victoria, to Mill Bay, which means you get to bypass a very busy and hilly stretch of highway known as the Malahat. This boat ride is billed as "BC's most scenic shortcut". See http://www.bcferries.com/schedules/mainland/bbmb-current.html for details. The highway from Port Alberni to Ucluelet is very narrow and mountainous - be prepared for all weather conditions (especially rain!). You can also take a working freighter trip from Port Alberni to Ucluelet if you want - see http://www.ladyrosemarine.com/rates.html for details - but this may be taking too much cycling out of the trip.
