Hi,
We will be cycling the German part of the Baltic sea route in a couple of week, but still haven't figured out how to get our bikes back to the starting point at the end of the trip. I know that many german trains accept bikes, but since we are 9 persons and have a lot of luggage (trailers etc), we are not sure it will be possible. Does anybody know?
Thanks!
Torill

Each german regional train has a bike compartment that holds 10 to 15 bikes but the space is also shared with toddler-buggies.
You can not make reservations on regional trains. If not all of your group fit into one train's compartment some people will have to take the next train. Depending on the region, these trains go from once every two hours to 3 times an hour.
If you detail a bit more from where to where you want to take the train at about what date I can do some more detailed research for you.
kind regards

Hi Thomas,
thank you so much for your answer. At the end of our tour we will need to go from Wollast to Lübeck (ideally swinouijscie, but that seems way to complicated...). We’ve already looked a little bit around, and it seems that we’ll need to change train 3 times, that seems difficult with our 5 young teens...So maybe what we’ll do is to have two adults go to Wolgast by car before the trip starts, Park the cars there and go back to Lubeck by train to start the tour with the group. But if you know about an easier way for the whole group to go back to lubeck, it would be great!
best regards

hi Torill,
I guess you mean the harbour town of Wollgast.
If you tell me the exact number of people in your group and the exact or about days when you want to go from Wollgast to Lübeck I can check out options for you.
kind regards

Thomas, that is so kind of you! We are 9 persons and we’ll travel back to Lubeck on August 17 or 18 - from Wollgast (sorry for having misspelt the name in my previous post)
have an excellent evening!

As an alternative you can take the boat from Świnoujście to Trelleborg and then from Trelleborg to Lubeck. I don't know if this is a good idea but it could be an opportunity.
Best regards

Hi Helge,
A ferry is a good idea, I hadn’t thought about it. I just checked, the Tripp’s really long, but why not? I’ll talk to my friends about it and let you know what option we choose.
best regards,
Torill
hi Torill,
are you going to check ferry-prices yourself? If yes: Let us know how you decide. Otherwise I'll phone the rail company and aks for special conditions/prices for 9 people plus bikes.
kind regards
