Colorado to Nebraska

I am doing a loaded tour this Spring or Summer 2011 from Montrose, Colorado to Alliance, Nebraska. My route will be Montrose-Gunnison-Texas Creek-Colorado Springs, Limon, Brush, Sidney, NE and ending in Alliance, NE. Has anybody traveled this route before? I am looking for tips on camping locations and general route information. Warmshowers hosts are only available in two of the towns (Gunnison and Colorado Springs) Thanks so much for any help you can offer.

Alternate Northern Route

Rob,

Here is an alternate northern route. I've ridden the stretch between Gunnison and Boulder. As well as Boulder to Ft. Collins

The Good:
Good shoulders most of the way.
Lighter traffic through the mountains.
Plenty of places to gorilla camp along the way with clear streams near the road
Hwy 93 has large stretches with a dedicated bike lane between Golden and Ft Collins.

The Bad:
14 miles longer though.
A little hilly between Jefferson and Evergreen.

Take a peak at the CO Host list. There are quite a few possible WS hosts along this route.
