An airline destroyed my Brompton folder, so I'd like to get a temporary replacement for my trek in April. It's about 400 kilometers and I have fourteen days, so I can probably walk it. But a rental or a cheap used bike would be more fun. Has to be cheap enough that leaving it behind won't hurt much. Or if a rental, might need to turn it in someplace other than where I get it.
I could get it anywhere along the way, but the sooner the better. I fly to Barcelona, have five or six hours there, then train to Pamplona for the night. Next day, on the trail. The route includes
Puente la Reina
Torres del Río
(Anyone wanting a tediously detailed version, see )
So, what can y'all tell me about availability in northern Spain? (I do speak Spanish)
http://www.decathlon.es/ for new
or http://www.vibbo.com/ used
or try the local bike shops for second hand. often they sell good bikes quite cheap (ours does) and you maybe be able to sell it back to a shop at the end of your trip for a few €s
I've sent messages to the sellers of four used bikes.
A rental for €325 is a bit high for me, but it sure is a NICE bike!
There is also a company http://www.cycling-rentals.com/ who will deliver & collect within Portugal & Spain, they quoted me €230 for 10 days - takes a lot of hassle out of the equation.
None of those panned out. Bought a new one for €300. Hope I can get some of that back two months from now.

You can post your bike for sale in your departure city a couple of weeks before you arrive there. Good Luck!
